The front desk allowed us to have a late checkout for our transition to the Marriott property that we also booked with points. The coffee shop onsite is charming and we enjoyed our pastries and breakfast sandwiches and lattes. The location of the hotel is perfect and allowed us the convenience of being able to walk to most of the major attractions. We ended up spending $539 for the cabana which included the food and cocktails. The cabana has a ceiling fan to keep cool. Service at the cabana was awesome and the pool staff kept us stocked with cocktails and food. The cabana has a comfortable sofa and table plus a flat screen and plenty of plugs to keep our devices charged. The booking includes a fully stocked fridge of nonalcoholic beverages plus a HUGE fresh fruit platter. The bed was comfortable and Chris and I liked the coffee machine on the fridge.Ĭhris and I booked a cabana at the adults only pool for the day. The bathroom was small but stocked with plenty of towels a blow dryer and amenities. Our room had a small sofa with a dining table plus a spacious closet and a mini fridge. The room was spacious and clean with a nice sized balcony and perfect views of the ocean and pools. The front desk agent was super friendly and already had an oceanfront upgraded room ready for us as a benefit of my Hilton Honors status. I booked a standard room with Hilton points and we arrived early at 1pm. The hotel is located just 17 minutes from the Key West airport. We read the reviews on Google and Trip Advisor and knew what we were getting for our Hilton points and it was a compromise that we were willing to make for the location, the private beach and the separate adults only pool that is oceanfront. The points redemption through Hilton was discounted and we hypothesized that the reason is that this hotel is a little outdated and in need of repairs and updating. My brother Chris and I chose this place for our vacation and to redeem Hilton Honors points that I have had sitting in my account. Definitely not worth the high cost as we felt this property should have been closed until all rooms have been renovated. Unfortunately the 3 guest rooms we stayed in were all run down with mildew in the grout areas of the shower, the sink faucets were literally coming off, the toilet broke a number of time, there were tiny ant-like bugs in the room, the smell of an old-age home permeated all three rooms, and so forth. Keep in mind there is no sand beach even though there are loungers to lay out along the Atlantic/Caribbean Sea. The lobby, pools, the fountain, outdoor bar / restaurant, and lounge areas were all lovely. However, the little money this property did have was clearly put to the common areas. We were there 3 days and changed rooms 3 times. However, when the entire property is falling apart from age, mildew, out-dated everything in all the rooms there wasn't much she could do. Simply put - DO NOT STAY HERE! The Front Desk Manager, Nicole, did all she could for us so we have to say that she really was very helpful. For dining the hotel’s Sun Sun restaurant and bar, an open-air wood pavilion overlooking the pools and beach, great for those seeking a casual atmosphere and plenty of that Floridian sun!! And as if all this wasn't enough, you can take advantage of the facilities at the sister property, The Reach, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, one block away. Casa Marina also has the largest fitness facility in Key West, allowing you to work off those holiday indulgences! Guest rooms at Casa Marina Resort are contemporary in style with whitewashed walls, textured tile floors and dark tropical hardwoods - a great place to retire to at the end of a busy day seeing the sights. Offered on-site is a booking centre for world-class diving, fishing and boating. Boasting a dramatic 'water walk' that leads to the resort's two largest swimming pools and the largest private beach in Key West, Casa Marina Resort is a tranquil oasis close enough to the action of Duval Street. Opened New Year's Eve 1920, Casa Marina Resort is Key West’s original grand resort! After a $45 million dollar renovation, Casa Marina became part of the Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts.
